Cursor + AIgateway

Add AIgateway as a custom OpenAI-compatible provider in Cursor.

Cursor's settings let you override the OpenAI base URL. Pointing it at AIgateway unlocks Claude, Gemini, Kimi, Llama, and every other model without leaving the Cursor UI.

Setup

Three steps or fewer.

STEP 01

Add AIgateway as the OpenAI provider

Cursor → Settings (Cmd/Ctrl+,) → Models. Fill in the 'Override OpenAI Base URL' field with https://api.aigateway.sh/v1 and put your sk-aig- key in the 'OpenAI API Key' field. Click '+ Add Model' and add each provider/slug you want (e.g. anthropic/claude-opus-4.7, openai/gpt-5.4, moonshot/kimi-k2.7-code), then Verify.

STEP 02

Pick a model

In Cursor's model dropdown, select a slug you added — for example anthropic/claude-opus-4.7 or moonshot/kimi-k2.7-code. Same chat panel, different brain.

Notes

Cursor only routes a subset of its features through a custom OpenAI provider — streaming and tool calling work for chat, but some Cursor-native features stay on its built-in models.
